A: The length of time a bottle of Nitrous Oxide will last is dependent on the bottle's size and the size of the Horsepower nozzles you're using.  A Basic BOSS NOSS kit includes a 2.5 pound aluminum bottle and two nozzles that total of 30 Horsepower.  In a nutshell, with a Basic BOSS NOSS kit, you can hold down your BOSS NOSS Switch for 3 1/2 minutes before you run out of Nitrous.  In most cases, you'll hold down the switch for 5-10 seconds.  You quickly find that when using BOSS NOSS liberally while riding, you can normally get a full day worth of riding with only one bottle.

If you plan to inject more than a 30 Horsepower boost worth of Nitrous Oxide, your bottle will obviously last for less time.  In these cases, it is wise to purchase either additional bottles, or bottles that hold more Nitrous.  Visit the BOSS store to see your options.

A:  The answer to this question depends on the size of Horsepower shot being thrown at your motor.  Anytime you do anything to increase Horsepower, you are putting a little more strain on your motor than normal, stock wear and tear.  This includes increasing Horsepower by using Nitrous Oxide.  Most motors, however, can take a moderate Horsepower boost without any dramatic or lasting effects.  The standard 30 Horsepower boost from a Basic BOSS NOSS Kit is not enough to significantly lower the life of your snowmobile.  When you start throwing 60+ Horsepower hits on your motor, odds are you are losing a little bit of longevity.

A:  A lot of people wonder about getting a larger bottle for their Nitrous Oxide.  BOSS is proud to supply quality Aluminum and Carbon Fiber bottles for purchase.  Some reasons why you might want a bigger or additional bottle is for long trips or higher Horsepower applications.  Having a big Nitrous bottle ensures that you always have Nitrous when you need it!

A:  Most Auto Parts stores can fill your Nitrous Bottle.  Checker Auto Parts, for instance, normally has a Nitrous Refill Station.  Most of these stores will charge around $4/pound for Nitrous Oxide.  That's about $10 to fill your BOSS 2.5 pound aluminum bottle.  There are also many BOSS Authorized Dealers who have refill stations and would be more than willing to fill your bottles.  Click here for a list of those dealers.

A:  It is possible to fill your own Nitrous Bottles.  BOSS sells a top of the line Nitrous Pump that you can purchase and keep in your garage.  It is very compact and runs off air pressure (yes, that means you'll need to have an air compressor).  To complete your refill station, you'll need to purchase a scale (also available from BOSS) and a Nitrous Tank (a really big bottle).
